Presentation: "Endowment Fund Challenges"
Cathy Ulozas is the Director of Investments for the Drexel University Endowment. An investment professional for over 25 years, she has managed investment funds for insurance companies, the largest US thrift and large state pension fund. Since taking over this $500 million portfolio in 2010, Cathy has re positioned the portfolio to take advantage of market opportunities while reducing volatility and increasing stability. Her team has added new alternative market structures to the portfolio while maintaining a keen eye toward liquidity.
Prior to her current position at Drexel, Cathy was the Senior Portfolio Manager at ING Direct. Her extensive investment experience includes portfolio management, trading and credit analysis. She has worked at several large insurance companies (Aetna, Cigna, Great West Life) and the Arizona State Retirement System where she was the Fixed Income Portfolio Manager responsible for both the internal and external fund managers. Cathy has performed extensive credit analysis in all sectors of the corporate and structured bond market. Her insurance experience in particular has given her an important understanding of the liability side of equation and importance of understanding the details of investment transactions.
Cathy holds an MBA in International Business from George Washington University and BA in Economics and Political Science from Drew University.
