Jody Lurie recently transitioned into the Investment Strategy Group, where her primary role is serving Janney’s Private Client Group as the expert in corporate bond, preferred, and other taxable fixed income research and strategy. Prior to the expansion of her role, Ms. Lurie served as the Corporate Credit Analyst in Janney’s Fixed Income Strategy & Research team, in which she focused on companies’ debt structures at the micro level, offering trade recommendations and portfolio reviews predominantly to retail and institutional accounts. Ms. Lurie still covers a long list of companies across several industries, with special interest in higher yielding credits to help clients identify appropriate investment decisions. Industries of expertise include, but are not limited to, banks and nonbank financials, industrials, oil & gas, metal & mining, food & beverage, and telecom.
Ms. Lurie can be seen in-print and on-air. She is frequently quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Bloomberg News, CNBC, Fox Business News, Reuters, Financial Times, ABC News, Chicago Tribune, National Public Radio, and other major publications. In May 2016, Ms. Lurie testified at the US Senate Finance Committee’s hearing, “Debt versus Equity: Corporate Integration Considerations”.
Ms. Lurie received an A.B. magna cum laude in Mathematics and Economics from Bryn Mawr College. She is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia. She holds Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
