Presentation: "Prospects for Business Investment Spending in the United States"

Business investment accelerated in 2017, after several years of disappointing performances. What factors are driving the resurgence, how will they translate into future spending, and which industies are likely to lead or lag behind?

Mark Killion, CFA is Director of US. Industry at Oxford Economics, with extensive experience in research and modelling for economics and finance, also skilled in the presentation of insightful conclusions and strategies. Killion brings value to companies and governments by developing state-of-the-art products that use innovative metrics to reliably forecast market conditions, and benchmark business performances.

Recent work at Oxford Economics include publishing industry scenarios on likely outcomes of new policies from the incoming Trump administration; conducting regular training sessions with clients on best use and interpretation of indicators to forecast company sales and costs; and delivering custom market analysis and forecasts to a multinational company on the business opportunities and risks faced by their largest clients.

Prior to joining Oxford Economics, Killion served as Managing Director of IHS Global Insight's World Industry Service, and previously at Lincoln Investment Management was Vice President focused on asset allocation strategies and exposures to international investments. Earlier, at Standard & Poor’s DRI, Killion was Principal Economist, covering the Japanese economy and sovereign ratings, also managing the macro-economic forecasts for all countries in the world. Killion earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Indiana University, a Master of Arts in Economics from Boston University, and maintains the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from The CFA Institute.
