Stuart P.M. Mackintosh is the Executive Director of the Group of Thirty an international financial think tank comprised senior figures from central banking, the financial sector, and academia.
Previously, Dr. Mackintosh was a Washington-based economist and country risk manager for Mitsubishi International Corporation. Before locating to the United States, Dr. Mackintosh was Chief of Staff and principal speechwriter for leading politicians in the European Parliament.
In July 2016, Dr. Mackintosh was elected to be the 2016-2017 President of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), the largest professional organization of economists in the United States. Mackintosh is an elected member of the Conference of Business Economists, composed of the fifty leading economists in North America. He serves on the advisory boards of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum, and the World Affairs Council. Dr. Mackintosh is a past Chairman and President of the National Economists Club of Washington, D.C.
Dr. Mackintosh has a B.A. and Ph.D. from Newcastle University and an M.Sc. from the University of Edinburgh. He is a Certified Business Economist (CBE).
